UMANG AGARWAL

Umang Agarwal, born on 9th March, 2003 in Kolkata, West Bengal, is a young film and music director, composer, lyricist, and emerging poet whose creative journey began through writing – as his first sanctuary – a quiet corner where thoughts could unfurl without hesitation – and whether he was shaping song lyrics or weaving poetry, the page remained the place he returned to with instinctive ease.

A Xaverian for over seventeen years through both school and college, Umang grew up in an environment that shaped not only his education but also the rhythm of his inner world. The familiar corridors, the hum of classrooms, and the cultural spaces that nurtured him continue to echo through his work, grounding his artistic voice in a sense of belonging that feels both intimate and enduring.

RAAZ CHHUPAAYE RAKHNA DILBAR

Raaz Chhupaaye Rakhna Dilbar is more than just a collection of poetry; it is a visceral seat beside the author, Umang Agarwal, as he navigates the dreams and unspoken secrets of modern youth. Born from restless nights and a yearning for closure, this book is a humble attempt to bridge the gap between the written word and musicality. Umang weaves together fifty diverse creations – 30 Shers, 10 Poems, and 10 Shorts – dating back to the raw, formative moments of his own teenage years. Whether dealing with heartbreak, loneliness, or the quiet rage of growing up, each piece served as a ten-minute nightly refuge, penned so that the author could revisit his past with a smile.

A sweet tribute to love and life. Makes you smile, makes you cry, makes you feel, even if have never experienced it. The writer has written his heart out on paper. You enjoy it throughout even if you are not into poetry.

Reading the book took me to a place I didn't think existed before. Several hard-hitting moments, but also some of those mushy love goo sprinkled all over making you go gaga. Titled aptly, because the kamikaze leap my heart did over some lines, are meant to be kept buried deep inside. Safe & Secure.

The shayaris and poems hit close to home and are so relatable that you can’t help but connect with them. It’s an easy, comforting read that stays with you - like the lingering warmth of a cozy hug from someone you love.

Having known Umang for so long, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication he poured into every word, to finally be able to fulfill his dream to release this collection. ‘Raaz Chhupaaye Rakhna Dilbar’ is exactly like him - filmy, cheerful, and deeply creative - giving us a real glimpse into the talent we’ve always known he has. Proud to see him finally sharing his heart with the world.

“Raaz Chhupaaye Rakhna Dilbar” – This is not just a collection of poems, it’s a beautifully and creatively crafted story. It’s always so great to hold a poetry book. For some it’s overwhelming - but for me it’s always a reminder that I am not the only one feeling what I am feeling, and Umang has succeeded in making me feel that.
